No 1 District Police Training Centre, commonly known  as Bruche,  provided all the recruit training for forces in the North West of England which prior to amalgamations and the boundary changes were quite numerous, hence the different styles of helmets and badges.

Located in  Warrington, Cheshire the Centre was a training complex for probationary police officers in the United Kingdom. The site was operated by CENTREX, the ‘Central Police Training and Development Authority’. It opened in January 1946 and closed in May 2006.
