Warrington Councillor, John Roddy enjoyed a visit to the Museum of Policing in Cheshire.

He was eager to learn more about Police history as his father John Roddy senior had served as a Detective Constable in Warrington Borough and then a Detective Sergeant in Lancashire Constabulary.

Cllr Roddy also served as a police officer with Greater Manchester Police for 14 years.

Cllr Roddy, who has a keen interest in policing issues, was fascinated to tour the old Victorian cells at the Warrington venue and promised to come back for another visit.

He said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the museum. It brought back memories of my childhood many years ago when I visited there with my dad.

“The museum is a tremendous asset to the town and the Constabulary and is a credit to the volunteers who have deservedly been awarded the King's Award for Voluntary Service. I look forward to visiting again in the future”

Cllr Roddy has worked in the Facilities and Security Industry for over 30 years and is a lifelong fan of Warrington Wolves.
